History

St Peter’s was originally built by William de Bishopsdon (correct sp) in the reign of King John (1199-1216). It was a daughter church of Stratford’s Holy Trinity Parish Church. See right and below.

By the 1700’s attendance was poor. In 1836 it was pulled down due to imminent collapse.

As part of the Victoria Terrace Development in 1844 it was rebuilt. However no images of it are known.
