SLHS: Museum Content
Aspirations
From the very start our tenet was that It’s All Our History. Yet it’s impossible to cram any single person’s history into one room let alone that of an entire town - especially a history making town like ours.
Therefore we must pick and choose and that picking and choosing could be quite divisive and actually will depend on what it’s possible to display whether it be a genuine article or a copy. It should convey the significant parts yet one person’s significant is another’s trivial.
This page will try to set out some aspirations to attempt to please most of the people that visit most of the time and give to people what they might expect -which means the management of expectation has got to be set out as well. A management team will be required - let’s hope that it doesn’t descend into a Committee !

What Might A Future Museum Look Like ?
Many people work visually. We have been asked this question and until we move in its impossible to say. However this is a page of aspirations and we would like to think that if it were spread over several floors our future museum might encompass the following..
