History
From about 2012 Stratford Town Trust started discussions with local groups about extensively improving the facilities for tourists and locals alike along banks of the river (see map below). By November 2020 they published a booklet of the proposals and eventually went out to public consultation.

Between Avon Estates Caravan Park and Seven Meadows Road
● These items have aspects that uniquely contribute to national or world history.
Concurrent with the Public Consultation a number of experts were brought in to provide estimates for necessary works. One thorny issue that raised its head was that many years before the Council had used an area upstream, roughly where fisherman’s carpark is now, as a dump. It had been covered over with earth but sadly if a new park was to be built all around there then quite a lot of polluting materials would need to be careful removed and disposed of. The cost for this was significant.
The Public Consultation came back and although there was a low response rate those that had responded were not particularly in favour of it. Therefore the idea was shelved.
