Bob was brought up in Chichester and went on to get a BA at Oxford. He further studied at Kings College, London to gain his PhD. He’s now a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society Institute of Advanced Research in the Arts and Social Sciences at University of Birmingham who teach in Marie Corelli’s House in Chapel Street.
He’s been General Editor of the Warwickshire History magazine (1970 onwards) and of the Publications of the Dugdale Society (2001 onwards). He received MBE in 2008.
