History
Warwickshire Timetrail explains..
“The Statford upon Avon Gas, Light and Coke Company was formed on the 17th March 1834 and opened its first works, in Chapel Lane, in the 1st September of that year. It proved to be a serious nuisance to its near neighbours. The subsequent a court case went against the company who then opened a the One Elm Gas Works in 1837.”
