History
From David Mills:
“The Stratford Blue company was formed in 1927 and initially operated a bus from outside the Unicorn (Pen and Parchment). Hutchings yard was demolished in 1931 and the bus terminus with cafe was built there. Stratford Blue became part of Midland Red group in the 1930s but operated independently until 1970. The bus terminus eventually reverted back to the Red Lion pub as a beer garden (they owned the land).”

Of course even when Midland Red Buses took over the buses still turned around behind the pub
The Bridgefoot Cafe was eventually demolished. Cheap meals there.
Then moved around the corner to a turnaround behind the Red Lion pub. “The 518 to Coventry via Leamington is now ready to depart”.
Oh the days of convenient public transport !
