Inauguration
There was once a question..
“Why have a local history society ?”
I don’t feel that it is right to reveal who asked this. However that has been drowned out by people asking..
“Why haven’t we got a local history society museum ?”
These are good questions to ask and so far we are pleased that creating the former will be a vehicle to the creating the latter. The creation of this society and its website communicate our serious pursuit of that goal.

Resources
Any museum is going to require the collaboration of many resources. Not least the gathering of material for such a museum.
Meetings
Stratford is a superb example of the development of a market town not just because of it’s most famous resident but because talented people were born and raised here before and after him. Because of that a large number of buildings and a vast amount of material has been saved. Much of it in the care of the trusts that are here and a lot is still out there.
Nobody can know it all and much of the mundane may not be worth expressing too loudly. However the more you look the more you find and regular informal meetings have revealed the research that so many people are doing at the present time because there’s so much we don’t know or is not widely known.

Collecting The Tangible
This museum is going to be practical and so having collected a few intangible thoughts it is necessary to collect the tangible.
